Meet the Dentists

The doctors, and entire team, of Cotswold Family Dentistry keep up with new technology and advances in dentistry through numerous continuing education courses each year. North Carolina dentists are required to take 15 hours of continuing education classes each year to maintain their dental licenses. However, Dr. Beckmann dedicates herself to earning much more than the required annual hours.

Dr. Brianna Beckmann

Dr. Brianna Beckmann grew up in the northeast and attended the United States Military Academy at West Point. A discovered passion for dentistry modified her path from a military career to one of dentistry. The skills she acquired through military training, including the coordination of a sharp shooter and high ethical deportment, lends itself to her ability to deliver highly precise dentistry with a selfless dedication to serving her patients. She went on to acquire dental prerequisites and a degree in Biology from Rutgers University so that she could attend the world's first dental school, University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She was awarded the Herbert E. Friedberg Memorial Award, in recognition of good character and attitude toward social and professional responsibilities as a citizen and a dentist. After graduation, she felt strongly about reconnecting herself with the military and supporting the veterans through dentistry and completed a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Stratton Veteran Affairs Medical Center in New York. With completion of an additional clerkship, Dr. Beckmann has advanced training and a passion for implant restoration. She practiced in both Albany and Queensbury, New York prior to permanently relocating to Charlotte in 2016. Dr. Beckmann remains a member of the American Dental Association and the local chapters to stay atop the latest developments in dental care.

Dr. Beckmann believes dentistry goes beyond performing checkups and fixing problems. It's about understanding patients' concerns, and being able to customize care to address each individual's personal goals and needs. That’s why she takes an interactive approach to educate, restore, and promote overall health, beginning with not just a healthy smile, but a happy one. In addition to providing happy smiles, Dr. Beckmann enjoys cooking, hiking, biking, yoga, and travel adventures with my fiancé Drew.

  • Dr. Jessica Patel

Dr. Patel was raised in Raleigh, NC, where her parents and sister still live. Her husband was born and raised in Charlotte, so in 2007 she was happy to make Charlotte her home. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a minor in Chemistry. In 2006, she graduated from the UNC Chapel Hill dental school. After graduation, she went on to complete a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Florida.

Dr. Patel places a high value upon building her knowledge through continuing education. North Carolina dentists are required to take 15 hours of continuing education classes each year to maintain their dental licenses. However, each year Dr. Patel dedicates herself to earning much more than 15 annual hours. After graduating dental school, she went on to obtain her fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry. As part of the requirements for fulfilling her fellowship, she obtained over 500 hours of continuing education in only 4 years! Upon receiving this distinction, she was notified that she was one of the youngest dentists in North Carolina to receive this at the age of 27! She has attended some of the most renowned continuing education facilities available for dentists, including the Spear Institute as well as L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education. When she was a resident at the University of Florida, she was awarded the Chairman Emeritus Scholarship from the L.D. Pankey Intstitute in 2007. Each year, Dr. Patel travels across the country to learn from the best speakers. She believes that being a constant student is the way to provide patients the care they deserve.

Outside of work both she and her husband stay busy raising their daughter, Elise, and son, Ronan. In her spare time she enjoys baking, traveling, playing the piano and supporting her favorite team, the UNC Tarheels!
